How to change gender in Fortnite - Have you enjoyed playing Fortnite on your iPhone, iPad, or any other device recently? Well, if you are relatively new to the game, you might want to know how you can change the gender of your character. Maybe you want your Fornite character to be a boy, or you want your Fornite player to be a girl, since both are possible.

If you haven't purchased the Battle Pass or any character skins from the Item Shop, Fornite will randomly select one of the eight default characters available each time a new game starts. Of all the available characters, four of them are male and the other four are female (there are currently no transgender Fortnite characters, in case you're wondering). So there is about a fifty percent chance that every time you enter a new game, you will automatically switch to a different gender with that character.

How to change gender in Fortnite to boy / man or girl / woman

Although we will focus primarily on the iOS and iPadOS versions of Fortnite, you can follow these steps to change your character's gender in Fortnite for Android, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Mac, and Windows PC as well.

1.  Once you're in the game's main menu, head over to the lockers section by tapping on the "hanger" icon, located right next to the Item Shop.
   
   
   
2. Now, tap on your current character as shown in the screenshot below 
   
   
   
3. Here, you will be able to switch to other character skins that you purchased from the Item Shop or earned simply by playing the game regularly. Select the character of your choice and tap "Save and Exit." 
   
   
   
4. If you don't have skins for the genre you want to switch to, you can purchase skins from the Item Shop with V-Bucks. 
   

There you go. Now you know how to change the gender of your character in the game in Fortnite.
It is important to know that unless you have purchased or earned skins for both genders, you will not be able to manually switch to a different gender in Fortnite.

That said, you don't necessarily have to spend money on character skins. You can earn V-Bucks gradually by playing regularly and use it to buy the skins you want. Or, you can purchase the Battle Pass and get access to a host of skins, emotes, and more.
